Track Club Meeting

The next meeting will be Thursday, February 26, 7 pm at the Quarterdeck Restaurant (164 Main Street).

All members are welcome! Everyone’s input and support are important for the future of our Club!

Prior to the meeting at 6 pm will be a talk by Melissa Berryman on “People Training for Good Dogs.”

This is a talk that will help runner’s better understand interactions with dogs, especially when they occur off lead.

Melissa offers the following: “My talks focus on the differences in human and canine perception, expectations and societal misconceptions that lead to injuries. That way the audience understands what is happening not only in the dog’s brain but also in our own giving more validity to do’s and don’ts.”

Melissa prefers to be considered a dog handling instructor and not a dog trainer. She teaches safety and liability protection. Her book is People Training for Good Dogs – What breeders don’t tell you and trainers don’t teach and her family instruction and dog care business is of the same name. 2015 Sunday Fun Run Schedule

Fun Run January 12, 2014

The “Sunday Fun Run” Schedule for 2015 is out. These events are a great way to meet other FTC members and run in different areas other than your usual route. They also help get you through the winter months.

Each Sunday we meet a member’s house on the list at 8:30 am. You will find runners or groups going in different directions who you can join up with. Usually routes are mapped out, or just follow the crowd for the distance you would like to do that day. All runners and walkers who are FTC members are welcome.
