5 Mile Coffee O Results

Thirty-eight runners toed the line this week at the Coffee-O-Five.
There was a screaming north-west wind which for most people, wasn’t
conducive to very fast times. Thru Hughes showed up for the first time
since last fall and showed no ill effects from his winter running
Hiatus. Mark McNally finished his first 5 mile run in a long while and
managed to crack 50 minutes. Ainsley Ramsey took a three mile stroll
through part of the course this week.
Jess Baker chalked up another Coffee-O-Five win with as she cranked
out the second fastest woman’s time of the year. She finished in
33:52. Heidi Ingram edged Dina Pandya by 40 seconds for second place.
Ms. Ingram toured the course in a very quick time of 36:20.
Once again the two men in black running attire battled each other
up front. This week it was Mike Ouimet who came out on top, with a
second place finish, as he held off the swift finishing kick of Michele
Bianchini. Mr. Ouimet posted a time of 31:22, with Mr. Bianchini
finishing just 15 seconds later. Matt Plant took fourth for the second
week in a row. Peter Murphy who hails from way over the bridge in East
Taunton finished fifth.
The Coffee-O-Five is a weekly five mile road race which is held
every week at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. All mothers who
finish the run next week will be given a complimentary rose in honor of
Mothers Day which will be next Sunday.
On May 17th a new 3 mile walk
will be added to the event and like the run it will be self timed and
there will be no grand and glorious prizes other than the free water
supplied by the Coffee Obsession.
