Critzer posts fastest Coffee-O Time for 2002

The Coffee-O-Five field shrank to 30 runners this week. Many of the
regulars sat this week out to rest their sore legs and aching bodies
from the pounding of last Monday’s Boston Marathon. In a sure sign of
spring the Elm road water stop was back in operation after the long
winter lay-off. Also a new osprey nest was being built right on the
course on a telephone pole at the three mile mark.

Eric Critzer took advantage of the “off week” in the Falmouth High
spring track schedule to take in the Coffee-O-Five. He loped through
the course in just over 28 minutes to post the fastest time of the 2002
season. Mike Ouimet showed absolutely no ill effects from a tough
outing in the Boston Marathon, as he nabbed third place in a time of
31:33. Jeff List took fourth place and Tim Jones grabbed fifth in 33
minutes even, which was another seasons best time for him.

Dina Pandya garnered he first outright Coffee-O-Five win this week
with a time of 36 minutes flat. She did finish in a tie for first with
her sister exactly one year ago. Heidi Ingram followed just 30 seconds
back to take second for the women. Kris Tholke edged Mary Peterson and
Linda Dalton for third.

Al Price chopped a scant two seconds off of his personal best five
mile time. In a battle of big men, Ollie Zenk and David Strobe who
both hail from New York, finished together in just under 43 minutes.

The Coffee-O-Five is a weekly five mile road race held at 5:30 PM
every week at Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is no entry fee for
this self-timed event, nor are there any grand and glorious prizes.
Coffee Obsession does graciously supply free water after the race.
