Friday Night
5 Mile Coffee O Results

Small Field for First Coffee O Five of 2004

Some may have had the post holiday blues, others may have been resting
for Sunday¹s Cape Cod Road Runners race in Bourne. Regardless, only 12
runners and three walkers took part in the first Coffee O Five of the new year.

Most of the field finished in twos this week. Jack Carroll and Wendy
Stafford trotted in together in a tie for second place over-all. Jeanne
Vieira and Brian Applebaum of Middleboro had and adventure of it but managed
to come in tied for fourth. They had the misfortune of following a runner
who was not in the race and he took them a ways off course before they could
regroup. Brian McDevitt and Crash Richards were the next pair to cross the
line as they finished in just over 42 minutes.

Kelle List edged Paul Hartel by a couple of strides and Joanne Corsano
bested Carolyn Bird to round out the field. Joan Pelletier teamed up with
the Lunn family as the three walkers finished in a shade over 40 minutes.

The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run and 2.4 mile walk which is
held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is
no entry fee for this self timed event and all runners and walkers are
welcome to participate. Reflective running gear is required through the
winter.
