Friday Night
5 Mile Coffee O Results

Just Ten Brave Tough Coffee O Nite
March 19, 2004

Spring was just a day away but it didn¹t seem like it at the last Coffee
O Five of the winter. Just ten runners trudged through the remnants of the
snowstorm that passed through town earlier in the day. The conditions were
not conducive to overly fast times, although Mike Garry did crack 48 minutes
for his first time this year.
Rachel Horwitz of Newton romped home in 41 minutes to garner her first
ever Coffee O win. She edged out Sharon Napier by just a couple of minutes.
For Ms. Napier it was her first Coffee O of the new year. Ed Sweeney of
Woods Hole finished in a tie for first to garner his first Coffee O Five win
as well. The man from USGS chomped a minute off his time of last week.
Dave McPherson trotted home three minutes later to nab third. Chris Risko
took fourth, which was his best ever Cofffee O Five finish.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five-mile run and 2.4 mile walk that is
held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is
no entry fee for this self-timed event and all runners and walkers are
invited to participate.
