Spring Brings Back Many Long Lost Coffee O Fivers
It was the first Coffee O Five of spring and the warm balmy night
brought out many of the former regulars who hadn¹t been seen
at the Coffee O
since the warm sunny nights of last fall. Even the walkers came back
this
week as ten walkers strode it out, along with 31 runners.
The big log jam came at 38 minutes as eight runners trotted home within
45 seconds of each other. Dan Webb led the group with a time of 38:11
Emily Slaby finished hot on his heels in a three way tie with Jeff
Hamilton
and Terry Souza. Rachel Horwitz came across 15 seconds later with
Bob
Richards in tow. Pete Landry and Richie Williams crossed next. All
eight
runners chalked up their fastest Coffee O Times of the year.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five-mile run and 2.4 mile walk that
is
held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth.
There is
no entry fee for these self timed events and all runners and walkers
are
invited to participate. The next major local road race is the Seagull
Six
which will be held Sunday, April 4th at 11:00AM in downtown Woods
Hole.
