Fastest Coffee O Time of 2004 Despite
Slow Headwind
With the strong north-east headwind on Surf Drive didn¹t slow
down many
of the Coffee O Fivers this week as some very quick times were turned
in.
Greg Stone scorched the course early in a shade over 29 minutes. He
not
only took first but turned in the fastest Coffee O Five time of 2004,
besting the old mark which was set just last week.
Steve Faluotico stayed in good shape over his winter Coffee O Five break
as he raced home in just over 30 minutes. A pack of four runners battled
each other for third, in the end it was John Evans who came from behind
and reeled in Corey Keesling and Brandon Dugan in the home stretch.
Mr. Evan¹s time of 32:15 was his best Coffee O effort in quite
some time.
Wendy Stafford out-legged Rachel Horwitz of Newton by a couple of
minute to take first in the women¹s race. Emily Slaby took third
in just a
shade over 40 minutes. Monica Hough and Eileen Miskell bounded home
together in a tie for fourth.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five-mile run and 2.4 mile walk for the
less fleet of foot. There is no entry fee for these self-timed events
and
all runners and walkers are welcome to participate. The race starts
at 5:30
in Town Hall Square of Falmouth.
