New Age Group Record Set on Tough Coffee O Five Night

    Young Chris Darrah must have noticed the lame slow four-way first place
tie of last week and perhaps decided to come down and shake things up a bit.
The 16-year-old harrier from Mashpee stormed home in 29:28 for a strong
second place finish in his Coffee O Five debut.  In the process the
speedster from Mashpee High School set a 16 and under age group record for
the Coffee O course.  It was not only his first time running the course but
also the first time he ever ran in the dark.  To top it all off there was a
northeast headwind coming home which is normally not conducive to fast
times.  A pair of StevesŠRuane and Faluotico also scorched the course in
under 30 minutes.
     Abigail Noble set the pace for the women.  She lopped 90 seconds off
her time of last week and finished in just under 35 mintues.  Wendy Stafford
followed a minute later with a patented sub 36 minute time.  Sharon Grace
nabbed third and Heather Farrell edged Joanne Corsano for fourth.
     The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run and 2.4 mile walk that is
held week after week after week..  (reflective running vests are required
at this time of year)
