Fast Fall Times for Coffee O Fivers
October 1, 2004
Thirty runners and a lone walker lined up this week
for the Coffee O
Five and the cool fall weather resulted in many fast times being turned
in.
Jeff List led the way as his flashy shoes trotted home in 31 flat, one
of
his best times of the year. Green team captain, Dana Miskell, followed
just
a minute and a half later with his best time in over two years, and
his best
Coffee O Five placing ever. Dave Farrell edged Jeff Hamilton by a scant
two
seconds for third, with a time of 33:34. It was Mr. Farrell¹s best
Coffee O
Finish and for Mr. Hamilton, his best time in over two years. Mike Garry,
the North Falmouth nail-pounder had a good run as well. He chugged home
in
the midst of a pack of four escorts in just a shade over 42 minutes,
his best
time in a long while.
Wendy Stafford bested Abigail Noble by two minutes in the women¹s
race
for the win. Ms. Stafford, who is very consistent, ran 36 minutes and
change. Rachael Horwitz crossed another two minutes later in third.
Two
twenty-year-old west coasters rounded out the top five. Erika Lewis
of Park
City, Utah took fourth in 40:45. Jess Bell of Seattle, Washington finished
15 seconds later in fifth.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five-mile run and 2.4 mile walk that is
held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There
