It was a large field of 50 runners and half a dozen walkers who
competed in the Coffee O Five this week. Don Fredrikson and Marjorie
Wainwright were the early pace setters as they led the field through
the half way mark. Ms. Wainwright settled for ninth over-all in the
end and second woman, as she crossed the line in a few tics over 33
minutes. Laura Hutchinson took first for the women with a time of
32:19.
Steve Ruane, the Full Moon Mile winner, edged Geoff Nickerson for
second. Devin Sibson edged Jeff List for fourth and Don Fredrikson
held on for sixth. Jurek Blusztajn chalked up his fastest Coffee O of
the year with a sub 39 clocking.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run and 2.4 mile walk that
is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth.
There is no entry fee for this self-timed event and all are invited to
participate.
