Three Weary Boston Marathoners Return for Coffee
O
Twenty-six runners toed the line at the Coffee O Five this week.
Wendy Stafford, Bob Richards, and Ed Giordano all rebounded from fine
efforts at the Boston Marathon earlier in the week. They made it
through this week's run on sore and tired legs. Wendy Stafford nabbed
first for the women in just a shade under 40 minutes. Rachel Horwitz
took second just a minute later. Eileen Miskell and Monica Hough, the
winners of last weeks race, bounded home in a tie for third this week.
It was a four-way log jam up front for the men. Ed Sweeney edged
Geoff Nickerson for fifth. Pete Landry raced home with one of his best
efforts of the year in just over 36 minutes and finished in seventh place.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run and 2.4 mile walk that
is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth.
All are invited to participate. There is no entry fee for these
self-timed events.
