 5 Mile Coffee O Results

June 17, 2005      

It was a small field of just 29 runners at the Coffee O Five this
week.  Four walkers showed up as well.  Many of the regulars were
rumored to be in secret training for next week's Summer Solstice Mile. 
Others may have been shopping for Fathers Day presents.
      Bob Richards had the run of the night as he chalked up another
personal best time.  He cracked 37 minutes for five, for the first time
ever and even had five seconds to spare.  Pete Landry, Chris Sherwood
and Matt Auger "ran shotgun" for part of the way and helped to pace and
break the wind when needed for the North Falmouth cannon maker. Don
Fredrikson bolted out to and early lead and held on until three miles. 
Mr. Fredrikson settled for fourth in the end with a time of just under
33 minutes.
      Stace Beaulieu took first for the women with a time of 36:44, one
of her best efforts of the year.  Kristina Harvey and Ailey Kirwin, two
twenty-year-olds, ran 38 flat to tie for  second in the women's race.
      The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run and 2.4 mile walk that
is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square.  All are
invited to participate in these self-timed events.  Post race water is
supplied by Coffee Obsession of Queens Byway and of Woods Hole.
