Nineteen Coffee O Fivers...No Snow For
a Change
It was the last Coffee O Five of the winter and 19
runners enjoyed
a warm night and snow free roads for a change. Chris Darrah, the
Mashpee High speedster outdistanced the field by about three minutes
en
route to a first place finish in just over 30 minutes. Pete Landry
settled for sixth place this week. Last week Mr. Landry sloshed
through the snow and ice and eked out a two second victory...his first
ever Coffee O Five win. Jurek Blusztajn and Sandro Segalini, two Coffee
O Five regulars, ended their winter hiatuses to make their first
appearances of 2005.
Stepanie Waterman and Rachel Horwitz trotted home together in just
under 43 minutes in a tie for first for the women. Monica Hough and
Eileen Miskell finished two minutes later in a tie for third.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run that is held every
Friday night from Town Hall Square at 5:30.
There is no entry fee for this self-timed event and all runners are
invited to participate.
