Friday the 13th, May 2005

      It was Friday the thirteenth, yet thirty-three runners competed in
this week's Coffee-O-Five.  Jen Rocca of Teaticket posted the fastest
women's time of 2005 en route to her first place finish.  Ms. Rocca ran
33:38 and placed sixth over-all.  Lindsay Ruthven edged Wendy Stafford
by just half a minute to nab second for the women.  Lynne Clay of
Bourne took fourth in her first Coffee O appearance of 2005.
      Young Jeff Hayes of Shrewsbury broke out of a four way log jam to
nab first over-all in his Coffee O Five debut.  Mr. Hayes finished in
32:10.  The next three runners finished in a lame three-way tie.  Kevin
Leach turned in another strong effort and cracked the top five for the
second week in a row with a time of 32 minutes and change.
      The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run that is held every
Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth.  There is no
entry fee for this self-timed event and all are welcome to
participate.
