Coffee O Five race directors are still up in arms over the fiasco
at this week's "race." According to onlookers and race officials, six
runners trotted into Town Hall Square together holding hands. They all
finished in 41:40. "This is a race...a competitive athletic
endeavor...not a tea party," one race official muttered. "Elbows
should be flying and runners should be diving across the line, not
holding hands...this is a race, not a peace rally" another spewed.
The stunt is under investigation by the Coffee O Race Commissioner and
suspensions will likely be handed out next week.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile "race" that is held every
Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. Reflective
running gear is required in the winter. It is sponsored by the Coffee
Obsession and the Falmouth Track Club.
