 5 Mile Coffee O Results

The largest field of the year showed up this week to brave the heat 
at the Coffee O Five, as over 50 runners and a handful of walkers toed 
the line.
      Fourteen-year-old Teddy Farley bolted out to and early lead and 
set the pace for Thomas Wortington and some old bald headed guy, Mr. 
Worthington dropped back at three miles and settled for a third place 
finish in 30:30...a personal best time.  Teddy Farley sped home for the 
win with a time of 29:41...also a personal best time, and the new 14 
and under course record.  Mr. Farley is now the youngest person ever to 
win the Coffee O Five in the nine year history of the event.
      Ali Smircina took first for the women, while Kelly Guay edged 
Danielle Kleppen for second by just 20 seconds.  Lauren Ledwell nabbed fourth for the women in 41:59 with Jeanne Cerulle crossing two seconds 
later in fifth.  It was the first Coffee O Five of the year for Ms. Cerulle.
      The Cofee O Five is a weekly five mile run and 2.4 mile walk that 
is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth.  
There is no entry fee for this self-timed event and all are welcome.  
The event is sponsored by Coffee Obsession of Queens Byway and Woods Hole, and by the Falmouth Track Club.
