 5 Mile Coffee O Results

June 16, 2006  

   Summer finally arrived for the Coffee O Fivers.  Thirty-three 
runners enjoyed the first warm Friday night of the year.  P.J. Petrone 
was on pace to run a personal best time but the man from SEA started 
tiring at three miles, and things weren't looking good...until a large 
white poodle dashed onto the course and gave chase.  Mr. Petrone 
shifted gears on the fly and dropped the poodle and everyone else in 
the field except for Chris George. 

     In the end Mr. Petrone smashed his personal best by almost a minute with his second place finish in 29:46. Chris George turned in his best time of the season to take first in 29:38. The poodle gave up and went home and did not finish.

     Stace Beaulieu led the women in 36 minutes and change.  Rachel 
Horwitz nabbed second and Judi Keller was third for the women.  Eilis 
Auger was fourth in her first Coffee O of the year.

      The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile race held every Friday 
night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth.  The event is 
sponsored by Coffee Obsession and the Falmouth Track Club.
