Despite the perfect spring night, just eighteen runners and a
handful of walkers showed up for the Coffee O Five. Many were home
resting for Sunday's Seagull Six Road Race.
P.J. Petrone bested Ben Hassey for second place. Brice Leonard
nabbed fourth in 36 and change in his Coffee O Five debut. Pete Landry
took fifth to round out the top five. Wendy Carroll led the women with
a time of 39:26. Danielle Granger trotted home two minutes later for second. Joanne Corsano edged Kris Tholke for fourth.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run held every Friday
night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is no charge for this self-timed event. In a sure sign that spring has come... reflective
running vests are no longer needed and the switch has been made from
post race Coffee Obsession hot cocoa to the more traditional cold
water.
