Fifty-seven people completed the Coffee O Five this week, many more actually toed the line at the start but a thunder and lightening storm with a deluge of rain and wind stormed through town thirty minutes after the start. Some of the runners who were out on the course wisely took shelter in safe havens along the course and did not finish. Jason Lyon and Chris Darrah were the only two runners who made it to the finish dry, and they took first and second.
Mimi Fallon of Walpole was fifth over-all and the first woman, her time of 32:52 was the fastest women's time of the year. Ali Smircina nabbed second in 37:30.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile race that is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is no entry fee for this self-timed event and all are welcome.
