Forty runners toed the line at the pre Father's Day Coffee O Five.
There were many first time runners in the field this week. Mike Irving of East Falmouth raced home in third place with a time of 33 minutes and change in his first ever Coffee O Five. Shawn Stilman cracked the top five with a fourth place finish and Rob Flaherty romped home in fifth place with a time of just under 35 minutes, in his first Coffee O Five since last summer.
Julie Winslow took first for the women in 37 minutes and a few tics. Wendy Carroll edged Lara Polansky of Chicago for second and Rachel Horwitz and Maryann Rowan finished together in a tie for fourth. The Bushy's of Waquoit had a strong family showing...as they had four members of their family cross the line.
The Coffee O Five is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. The ten year anniversary and 520th running of the event will be next week. The Third Annual Summer Solstice Mile will be on Thursday night...making it a very busy running week.
