Forty-five runners...the largest field of the year by far, toed the line this week at the Coffee O Five. The Elm Road water stop was once again a welcome sight for many of the parched runners.
Matt Plant smashed his Coffee O PR by 40 seconds and just dipped under the covetted 30 minute mark in the process, with a clocking of 29:56. The Hamilton tree man tied for first. P. J. Petrone and Mike Norton crossed the line together to tie for third.
Ali Smircina took the women's race in 35 minutes and change in her first Coffee O of the year. Ann Tarrant edeged Wendy Carroll by just five seconds to nab second. Judi Keller finished her 198th Coffee O Five...just two runs away from 1000 Coffee O Five Miles.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. The third annual Summer Solstice Mile will be held on June 21st at 5:30 PM.
