With the clocks set back twenty-four reflective vest clad runners set off into the dark this week. Don Fredrikson celebrated his 48th birthday with his first ever Coffee O Five win. Mr. Fredrikson edged out P.J. Petrone in a hard fought battle and crossed the line in 32:05...his fastest time of the year.
Twelve-year-old Connor Cobb wasn't phased by running in the dark for the first time. The young speedster chopped a good two minutes off his personal best time en route to a sub 40 minute clocking. Iron Mike Garry pulled up lame at the starting line and was a game time scratch.
Stace Beaulieu edged Wendy Carroll by a few seconds to take the women's race. Victoria Stearns of Plymouth crossed the line a minute later to nab third.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. Reflective running gear is required through the winter.
