The thermometer said 18 degrees on Friday night and the wind chill was much worse. Fourteen runners came out to brave the cold. Running into the headwind on Mill Road was brutal but the tailwind on Surf Drive was refreshing, as was the full moon that lit up the night. Evan Williams and Joanne Corsano were both undaunted by the cold and chalked up their first Coffee O Five wins. Mr. Williams edged Michael Irving by a few steps and Ms. Corsano trotted home in 52 minutes to nab first for the women..
The Coffee O Five is a weekly Five mile race held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth, there is no entry fee and all are welcome. Reflective running gear is required in the winter.
