Friday Night Runners Get Wet

There were just nine hearty soles at this week's Friday Night Five. To sum it all up...it was cold and wet and just not a nice night for a run. No one ran particularly fast, nor did anyone hang around for a long time in Town Hall Square. Bill O'Mara edged Corey Keesling for the win, while Mike Norton settled for third. Norton ran sub-28 last week to post the fastest time of the new year. Laurie Fife was the first woman across the line with a time of 43 minutes, which is actually not far off her best time. Ms. Fife is training for some marathon somewhere at sometime, but has not yet committed. Those who meandered off to the Quarterdeck afterwards, found it unusually quiet, as Tommy Leonard was home recuperating from the flu. The Friday Night Five takes place every week at 5:30 PM from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is no charge for this self-timed run, and all runners are welcome to participate. Reflective running gear of some type is required.
