Harris First in Her Last Friday Night Five
There were an even 20 runners in this week's special Ground Hog Day Five. It was a dark night without much moonlight so no one really saw their shadows.Courtney Harris of North Falmouth waited until her last Friday Night Five to finish first. Ms. Harris, who is moving south to the warm state of Virginia, finished a couple of minutes ahead of Trish McPherson of Pocasset with a time 39:55.
In the men's race it was Corey Keesling who had the run of the night. He took second place over-all with a time of 30:31, his fastest five mile time in over five years. Mike Norton was third. In a very close race, Bob Crowley finished fourth, just barely holding off the treadmill twins, Jeff List and Steve Hamel.
The Friday Night Five is held every week at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is no entry fee and the race it open to all runners. Reflective vests of some sort are required in the winter.
