December 27, 2010: The date for the 2011 running of the Seagull Six Spring Classic has been announced. The date will be Sunday, April 3 at 11:00 am. More details will be posted to the Seagull Six Spring Classic page once they become available.

November 26, 2010: Chase the Turkey results have been posted, at this page: Chase the Turkey 2010 [PDF]. You can also get there through the main Results page (scroll to the bottom of the page). Club members Mike Norton and Anne Preisig repeated their 2009 victories. Race director Ted Rowan thanks everyone from the club who ran or helped.

November 26, 2010: 2011 Membership Application [PDF] is now available. Black Friday Special: Join the Falmouth Track Club now and get the rest of 2010 for free!

November 17, 2010: We now have a Searchable Data Base of runners in the Coffee-O Friday Night Five since 1997 through (more or less) the present, so you can look up all of your times.

November 11, 2010: Track Club Business Meeting will be held Thursday, November 18 at 7:00 pm at the Gus Canty Recreation Center, Main Street, Falmouth. All Falmouth Track Club members are invited to attend.

November 8, 2010: Your webmaster has been making some cosmetic changes to the website, cleaning up some pages, etc. If you click on something that doesn't work, don't sit and cuss, let me know and I might fix it if I think it matters.

November 8, 2010: Welcome New Members to the Falmouth Track Club! Here is a list of new members who have recently joined: Karen Arsenault, Annemarie Currie, Robin Hubley O'Donnell, Richard McKenna. Welcome to all!

November 1, 2010: The Falmouth in the Fall 7-mile race is Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1:00 pm. Race director Don Facey always counts on a strong contingent of Track Club members to help him put on a top-notch event. If you're not running and are interested in helping out by volunteering, please write to falmouthtcinfo@aol.com and we'll find a job for you.

November 1, 2010: Congratulations to all who ran the Cape Cod Marathon. Preliminary results are posted at the Cape Cod Marathon website.

October 26, 2010: Any FTC member wishing to obtain a waiver for the 2011 Boston Marathon, forward an email to FTC President Glen Rogers at ffrdglen@aol.com stating your interest and also your involvement in FTC events and activities. The deadline for receipt of this email is November 5, 2010.

October 16, 2010: The Falmouth Academy "Chase the Turkey" trail run will be held again this year on Thanksgiving Day. Details at the November events page.

September 15, 2010: Cape Cod Marathon seek volunteers. The race needs help along the course, at a relay station or a water stop. The race is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 31 starting at 8:30 am from the Falmouth Village Green (Main Street). Find out more and sign up to volunteer at the Cape Cod Marathon website.

September 15, 2010: Information is now available for the School Stampede one-mile race, being held on the track at Falmouth High School on Saturday, October 2, as a benefit for the North Falmouth Elementary School. All ages (adults and children) are welcome to participate. Here is the Application [PDF].

August 17, 2010: Next FTC business meeting has been announced. It will be held Thursday, August 19 at 7:00 pm at the Falmouth Fire Department Headquarters, 399 Main Street, Falmouth (Main Entrance on King Street) - Administrative Conference Room upstairs. All Falmouth Track Club members are welcome to attend. Focus of meeting will be the Main Street Mile, Sunday, September 12th, the Cape Cod Marathon October 31st and any other business that may come before the meeting. All FTC members and prospective members are invited to attend.

August 17, 2010: The application is now available for the Main Street Mile to be held on September 12, 2010 at 1:00 pm. This race is a Falmouth Track Club event and features multiple age groups for children as well as for veteran runners.

Agenda: finalize mission statement, finalize innovations for CCM/FTC sponsorship and address concerns about race reimbursement program. All FTC members and prospective members are invited to attend.

Feb. 14, 2010: Congratulations to the new slate of officers elected for 2010 at the Falmouth Track Club annual meeting on Jan. 19. The new list of officers and other club personnel appears on the Contact Us page.

Jan. 18, 2010: Registration is now open for the Seagull Six Spring Classic to be held on March 28, 2010 at 11:00 am. You may register through the mail or on line. See the Seagull Six page for info. This race is a Falmouth Track Club event.

Jan. 14, 2010: The 2010 Membership Form is now a fill-in PDF file. You can type your information right on the computer screen, print it out and mail it in. (Or bring your membership form to a fun run and give it directly to our membership lady, Doris Beatty.)

Jan. 8, 2010: With the addition of results from the Coffee-O run of Christmas Day, Coffee-O results for 2009 are now complete.

Jan. 7, 2010: The Falmouth Track Club Winter Fun Run schedule is now posted. See the Fun Run Schedule Page for dates and locations. Please note the starting time of the fun runs will be 8:30 am.

Jan. 3, 2010: The date for the FTC Annual Meeting has been announced. It will be held Tuesday, January 19th at the Quarterdeck Restaurant, Main Street, Falmouth, at 7:00 pm. All FTC members are encouraged to attend. Agenda will be nominations and elections of FTC officers, changing of the guard and then onto year end reports and hopes and dreams for 2010 from the board and event directors.

December 26, 2009: Welcome to new members of the FTC! See the list of new members on the home page. I mention this here in case anyone has this "what's new" page bookmarked.

December 26, 2009: You have two opportunities this coming Friday to run in a Falmouth Track Club event. Friday is January 1 and the annual Hangover Classic is being held once again at the home of Carolyn and Courtney Bird. And it's Friday so the Coffee-O 5-mile race is being held that evening. Who's planning on doubling up? See the January Calendar of Events for details on both events. There is also the Old Silver Beach "Run and Dunk" (see January calendar) so if you are especially out of your mind you could triple up -- and take a dip while you're at it!!!

November 7, 2009: The procedure for applying for a Boston Marathon waiver number for 2010 has been announced. The club has five waiver numbers this year. The application deadline is this coming Thursday (Nov. 12) so you don't have time to dawdle on this one. See the April race calendar for application instructions.

August 22, 2009: Next month's FTC business meeting has been announced. It will be held September 8 at 7:00 pm, at the Falmouth Fire Department Headquarters, 399 Main Street, Falmouth (Main Entrance on King Street). July 2, 2009: The Falmouth Sprint Triathlon seeks volunteers! Falmouth Track Club has been in touch with Rich Havens of TimeOut Productions, race director of the Falmouth Sprint Triathlon, about supplying a group of volunteers for the event. This triathlon will be held on Sunday, July 19 starting at Surf Drive Beach at 7:00 am. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and food. We'd like to have a good FTC presence at the event. We will also have a table for the club with club information the evening before the race and possibly also the day of the event. This is a chance for us to help out with a fabulous local event and really promote the club. Please contact FTC president Glen Rogers at ffrdglen@netscape.net if you are interested in volunteering.

June 9, 2009: The date for this year's Main Street Mile, a Falmouth Track Club event, has been announced. The race will be held Sunday, September 13. This is a family-friendly event, with competitors ranging from shining eyed tots to grizzled veterans. More information coming by the end of June.

Jan. 5, 2009: Race results for the Cape Cod Road Runners' Winter Fun Run have been posted at the Non-FTC Race Results page. Club member John Evans usually updates this page on a weekly basis with race results from around Massachusetts and Rhode Island. If you are in a race that doesn't show up in the results, send them to John at john.g.evans.ne@gmail.com and he will include them. It's always interesting to see what other club members are up to.

December 9, 2008: 2009 Membership Application [PDF] is now available. FTC memberships are good for the calendar year, Jan. through Dec. If you join now for 2009 we will include the rest of 2008 for free! Or if you're already a member why not renew now and make sure your membership doesn't lapse. FTC membership isn't going up in price -- unlike just about every other consumer product out there.

Dec. 3, 2008: Race results for this year's Falmouth in the Fall Road Race here: Falmouth in the Fall 2008. It's not a Track Club event, but we do the timing, and many of our members run in the race or volunteer. Your webmaster had a number this year but I broke a toe a couple of weeks before the race so I couldn't run. Next year I'm hoping for better fortune.

Dec. 3, 2008: In the spirit of inter-club cooperation (and the wish to list every Cape Cod race), we've been adding the Cape Cod Athletic Club winter grand prix races to the Events page. Your webmaster is a joint FTC/CCAC member and enjoys attending both club's events. While you're waiting for the Track Club's brunch run series to start up in January, why not show up at a few of that other club's races?

Dec. 2, 2008: Thanks to John Evans, the Falmouth Track Club Google Group has been re-invented. This is the same Google group that was created a few years ago but has been inactive lately. Now that the group has been unearthed, let's get some discussion going! The direct link to the group is http://groups.google.com/group/Falmouth-Track-Club. If you were previously a member of the group, you still are a member. If you would like to join for the first time, you can join by writing to John Evans john.g.evans.ne@gmail.com and he'll get you set up.

July 1, 2008: 30th Annual Falmouth in the Fall Road Race will be run on Sunday, November 2, at 1:00 pm. Entry fee is $12.00. This 7-mile race is run on the same course as the August Falmouth Road Race. Falmouth in the Fall is not a Falmouth Track Club event, but we do the timing and many of our members run in or volunteer at the event. Final day for entry will be Oct. 2. More details and entry information coming soon.

Changes include some corrections to the list of personnel, a link to the bylaws, a link to the meeting minutes, and a section on club activities and one on club history. Most of the info for these last two sections was taken from articles written by Doris Beatty and Betsy Gladfelter for the Cape Cod Marathon magazine and the FTC website, as well as from the CCM website, with edits by me.
